The 40th Anniversary Celebration will be an in-person event held on Thursday August 22, 2024, at the Access Center for Independent Living – 165 E. Helena Street, Dayton, Ohio 45404 from 11 AM to 4 PM.
We invite you to celebrate and honor with us the history of the Access Center for Independent Living and the Disability Rights Movement as well as the strides that the Disability Community has made in the fight for “Civil Rights”.
At this event we are honored to be a stop for the Caravan for Disability Freedom and Justice 2024. The Caravan is a collective of people with disabilities, and allies, who are driving across America to honor and celebrate people and places significant to our 100+ year struggle for freedom and justice.
The goals of the caravan are to shine a light on those who have gone before as well as on current issues Americans with disabilities are facing. We want to connect people to this rich history of activism and advocacy with current national, regional, and local issues.
