Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s MyCare Program: A New Era of Integrated Healthcare for Ohioans

The Access Center is throwing fun social events quarterly in 2026 to help people connect and beat loneliness. Thanks to a little help from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, we’re able to make these gatherings happen. To show our appreciation, let’s take a look at Anthem’s MyCare Ohio plan—it makes understanding dual Medicare and Medicaid coverage a whole lot easier!

MyCare Ohio started in 2026 by the state’s Medicaid department to make healthcare simpler for people using both Medicaid and Medicare. Anthem is one of the four plans available.

Anthem’s MyCare program connects medical care, behavioral health, and long-term care services. Each member gets a care coordinator to help them live independently and meet their unique needs. This way, individuals don’t have to repeat their information to different providers, making healthcare more efficient and personalized.

“Anthem MyCare supports individuals by combining health coverage with personalized, coordinated care based on each person’s needs and life goals,” said Michelle Stoughton, President of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s government business. “Our approach connects physical and behavioral health with community support, addressing medical needs as well as social factors like housing, caregiver support, and daily essentials.”

Focus on Community

Anthem stands out by working closely with community organizations like ACIL to understand the challenges people face. This ensures Anthem’s services are tailored to meet the real needs of its members.

The MyCare program also features proactive outreach. Regular check-ins help catch potential issues early. The program assists with things like renewing equipment, expiring authorizations, and missed appointments to keep care consistent and coordinated.

Extra Benefits for MyCare Members

Anthem’s MyCare program offers more than just integrated care. Additional services include:

Transportation: Up to 60 one-way trips or 30 round trips to resources within 30 miles, plus a $100 transportation gift card.

Caregiver Flex Funds: Financial help for caregivers facing social challenges.

Housing Stability Program: Help for those at risk of losing their homes, including support with rent and utility bills.

Everyday Options Allowance: $240 monthly for essentials like healthy food and wellness products.

Members also benefit from services like Fresh Food Connect, meal delivery after hospital stays, and fitness programs like Silver Sneakers. These offerings highlight Anthem’s commitment to members’ overall well-being.

Future Plans

As the MyCare Program continues to roll out, Ohio residents can expect more healthcare options. Anthem is committed to providing benefits tailored to each member’s needs. They encourage people to reach out to their care coordinators to help manage their healthcare.

“What’s important is that members feel supported in every part of their lives,” adds Stoughton. “Our care team, including coordinators and community partners, are focused on supporting services and accommodations that help individuals live more independently and improve their overall quality of life.”

As the Next Generation MyCare program grows, Anthem aims to create a supportive environment that values accessibility and personalized care. Ohioans can expect a future where healthcare supports independence and quality of life.

For more information, Anthem members can contact their care coordinators or call Anthem member services at 833-727-2169 (TTY 711). Representatives are available seven days a week from October to March and five days a week from April to September.

Anthem’s MyCare program is changing how Ohio cares for its most vulnerable residents. Through its integrated approach, wide-ranging benefits, and community involvement, Anthem is set to make a significant impact on people’s lives across the state. ACIL hopes that Anthem will continue to work with them and other organizations to improve the quality of life for Ohioans.
