Attention Greene County residents! The Greene County Transit Board (GCTB) invites you to participate in two important public meetings to discuss proposed changes to the public transit system.
These meetings are your chance to directly influence decisions that could reshape the way public transit operates in our community.
Join GCTB on April 8 and April 10, 2026, to share your thoughts and concerns about plans that include service reductions and fare increases. Your input is crucial in ensuring that any changes reflect the needs and priorities of our community.
Meeting Details:
– April 8: Fairborn Community Library at 1 East Main Street, Fairborn, Ohio, 45324 from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
– April 10: Greene County Job and Family Services Media Room, 541 Ledbetter Road, Xenia, OH 45385 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Each session will include a presentation of the Revised Service Plan, followed by an open Q&A where your questions and comments will be addressed by GCTB staff.
Key Proposed Changes:
– Elimination of the Flex Route Service: Affecting less densely populated areas.
– Reduction of Weekday Service Hours: New hours will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
– Conversion to On-Demand Service: Affects specific areas such as Fairborn/North Fairfield Corridor and Xenia/Wilberforce.
–Changes to Fare Structure: Transition from a flat fare to a per-mile model.
